    Official Rules

    Fall Festival 50/50 Charitable Raffle

    1.

    Sponsor

This raffle is sponsored by St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church ("St. John," "Sponsor"), 1763 N Gilbert Rd, Mesa, AZ 85203, a qualifying tax-exempt religious organization.

    2.

    Authority

This raffle is conducted under Arizona's charitable raffle exemption, A.R.S. § 5-513, and is operated exclusively by bona fide members of St. John. No compensation is paid to any person for the sale, management, or operation of this raffle, and no officer, director, employee, or agent of St. John benefits personally from the raffle beyond the church's own charitable and religious purposes.

    3.

    Eligibility

Open only to legal residents of the State of Arizona who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Arizona residency is confirmed by the zip code entered at purchase and cross-checked against the billing zip code provided to our payment processor. Void where prohibited by law.

    4.

    How to Enter

Raffle entries are sold exclusively online at stjohnaz.org/fallfest. No entries are sold in person at the festival or through any other channel. Entries may be purchased from [entry period opens] through 8:55 PM MST on October 24, 2026, in the following bundles: $20 (1 entry), $50 (3 entries), $100 (8 entries), $250 (25 entries), $500 (60 entries), or $1,000 (130 entries). Payment is required for every entry; there is no free or no-purchase method of entry. There is no limit on the number of entries a person may purchase.

    5.

    Prize

The winner receives 50% of the total eligible raffle-ticket revenue collected during the entry period (the "Pot"). St. John retains the remaining 50% for its charitable and religious purposes. The final prize amount is not known in advance and depends on total eligible sales as of the close of entries; it will be announced at the time of the drawing. The $100,000 total-sales figure referenced in festival marketing is a fundraising goal only — it is not a guaranteed or minimum prize amount, and the drawing will occur on the scheduled date whether or not that goal is reached.

    6.

    Drawing Date, Time, and Method

The drawing will be held live at the St. John Fall Festival on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM MST, and broadcast live online. The winning entry will be selected using random.org's independent, publicly verifiable random list generator, applied to the complete list of valid (paid and non-voided) entries as of the close of sales at 8:55 PM MST that day. The winner need not be present at the festival to win.

    7.

    Notification

The winner will be notified using the contact information provided at the time of purchase (phone and/or email), and the winning entry number will be posted at stjohnaz.org/fallfest.

    8.

    Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend on the total number of valid entries sold. Purchasing additional entries increases your odds but does not guarantee a win.

    9.

    Taxes

If the prize is $5,000 or more, IRS regulations require St. John to issue the winner an IRS Form W-2G and to withhold 24% of the taxable prize amount for federal income tax, which will be remitted directly to the IRS. The winner is solely responsible for any additional federal, state, or local tax obligations. St. John does not provide tax advice; winners should consult their own tax advisor.

    10.

    Refunds and Voided Entries

Ticket purchases are final except as stated here. If a payment is refunded, reversed, charged back, or disputed for any reason, the entries associated with that purchase are automatically voided and removed from the drawing pool.

    11.

    Not a Charitable Donation

Raffle ticket purchases are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. Those wishing to make a tax-deductible gift should use the separate "Support the Parish" donation option at stjohnaz.org/fallfest.

    12.

    Use of Personal Information

Information collected during entry is used and protected as described in our Privacy Policy.

    13.

    Amendments

St. John reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify this raffle or these Official Rules at any time as required by law or by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, with notice posted at stjohnaz.org/fallfest.
